Delete it in the app
- Open Tootly and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap your avatar at the top of the screen. This opens your Account screen.
- Scroll to Delete account — it is the red row below “Sign out”.
- Read the four confirmations and check each one. All four are required.
- Tap Continue to confirm deletion.
- Type DELETE when prompted, then tap Delete my account.
You are signed out immediately and your account is closed to sign-in from that moment.
Delete it by email — no app needed
If you have deleted the app, lost your phone, or cannot sign in, you do not need the app to get your data removed.
Email support@1percenteveryday.com with the subject Data Deletion Request, from the email address on your Tootly account.
We will verify that you own the account and then delete it. If you have to email from a different address, we may ask you for something that shows the account is yours — we would rather be slow than delete the wrong person's career history. We process email deletion requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Your personal content is removed. That means:
- Your profile
- Your career timeline and every event in it
- Your roles, education, skills, certifications and capabilities
- Every report you have run and every document you have generated
- Saved target roles, snapshots, and anything waiting in your review queue
- Resume imports and uploaded resume data
- Any salary figure you contributed
- Your credit balance and usage counters
- Feedback you submitted, your referral and invite records, and any promo codes you redeemed
- Notification tokens for your device
What we keep, and why
Three things survive deletion, and we would rather you knew before you started than discovered afterwards.
Your financial records are kept for 7 years. Credit purchases and subscription history are retained for 7 years to meet United States tax and accounting requirements, then deleted. They are not used for anything else — no marketing, no analysis, no profile.
A stripped account record is kept, not deleted. Because those financial records have to point at something, we do not delete your underlying account row — we empty it. Your email address, display name, avatar and profile settings are cleared from it. What remains is an anonymous placeholder that exists so the retained financial records stay valid. It contains nothing that identifies you.
Your sign-in record is kept, indefinitely. Deleting your account removes your career content, your profile, and everything listed above — but the record that you signed in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or email is separate from that, and we do not currently have a way to remove it. It stays, on its own, with no expiry date.
Can I change my mind?
Yes, for a limited window. When you confirm deletion, your account is closed immediately and you are signed out — and for 7 days after that, signing back in cancels the deletion and restores your account exactly as it was. The app shows you the exact date the window closes.
Once that 7-day window has passed, you can no longer sign back in to recover the account. Your profile, timeline, and career data — the personal content listed above — are automatically and permanently deleted, and this cannot be undone by you or by us. (Financial records are retained separately, as described above, for legal and tax purposes — that part does not change.) If you want written confirmation that deletion has completed, email support@1percenteveryday.com and we will confirm it for you.
Two things deleting your account does not do
It does not cancel your App Store subscription. Apple owns that separately, and it will keep billing you for an account that no longer exists. Cancel it in iPhone Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Tootly. Do that as well as deleting, not instead of.
It does not reach documents you have already exported. Anything you copied, shared, or saved outside Tootly lives on your device or wherever you sent it. We have no way to retrieve it.
